Depth Of Field
The depth of field project took me a little bit to get it figured out and do it right. For my first series, I set up my dance shoes on the table. The first pair were my jazz shoes, the second pair were my tap shoes and the third pair were my hip hop shoes. The first shot is a little blurry but I didn't have a tripod with me to hold it completely steady. For the first shot, my jazz shoes were in focus. The second shot my tap shoes were mainly in focus but you could still see my first pair of shoes. The third shot has everything in focus. The depth of field is wide. I feel like I could of done a little bit better on these shots but it was a learning experience. This project was a little challenging but I am figuring it out.
My second depth of field shots were a little easier than the first set. I used the series The Fifth Wave as my objects. The first object was the first book, the second object was the second book and the third object was the final book. The first shot is a little tilted, which I could work on in the future, but it's a narrow depth of field so the first book is in focus while everything else is blurred. The second shot is a medium aperture and the second book is mainly in focus but the first book isn't totally blurred out. The third photo I had to turn my flash on to get a good wide depth of field, but I got it to focus all three of the books. It took me a couple tries to get the pictures on the right track but it taught me a lot about aperture with my camera.
For my third set of depth of field pictures, I used three dancers from my dance class. It took a little bit of time because the lights in the dance studio were bad and the window light didn't help either. I had to use my flash for the first two photos but then when I took my wide shot, the flash was not needed. I think if I were to redo this set I would work harder on the lighting, flash and iso.
For my fourth set of aperture, I used three highlighters. Green was my closet obeject, Orange was in the middle and blue was my farthest. I had to use my flash for these set of pictures because the kitchen lighting was not good enough. I think this is one of my better sets. It took my less time than the other ones because I kind of knew what I was doing since I've already done it three times. The pictures turned out clear although I think I could of made the wider picture more focused on everything.
