Fine Art Forgery
Little Dancer Aged Fourteen
For my recreation of Little Dancer Age Fourteen, I used my sister as a model and used a dress that looked somewhat like the one that little girl was wearing. We went up against a white fence in the grass and I had my sister pose similar to the original picture. The first two she has her eyes closed and is still like a piece of art. I turned everything black and white on the first two photos except for my model. I thought it would help make my model stand out better. The second photo I tried turning her a brown color in photoshop so that she resembles somewhat of a statue. The third photo we tried to make the dancer come more alive by having my model wink at the camera. I made the background black and white also so that she stands out more. This original piece was made of wax and was done by Edgar Degas of a young student of the Paris Opera Ballet dance school, a Belgian named Marie van Goethem. I really liked this piece of sculpture because it's detailed yet simple.
Sleep
I chose to do a second piece of fine art forgery and I chose a piece called Sleep. I used my sister again for this photo. I chose not to use the same colors so that the picture is a little different. I layed the hair out in a way that it kind of looks like she is really sleeping. It's not perfect, it's messy and not combed very well. I put this photo through photoshop and lightened up the photo to make it lighter like the original picture. I took the picture more right above her face and had less space being seen of the bed. The original piece of art was presented at Art Basel Miami Beach and the artist was Marina Abramovic.
Project Coca Cola
These are the original pictures I took before I took them out of the picture individually.
I chose a third piece to do and it is the project coca cola one. The original piece was done by Cildo Meireles in 1970. It is a conceptual art piece. I chose to do this because I thought it would be fun to do. I took a separate photo for each amount and then went into Photoshop and used the magnetic lasso to cut each bottle out of the background. Then I went and got a white background and pasted each bottle onto the background. The bottles aren't perfect but I think it turned out pretty good.
